Required Actions > Orphan Pages

Use the Orphan Pages report to find and delete pages and binary files on your staging server that are not linked to other pages on your site(s).

Fixes

If your site uses a directory with /omni-cms in the filename, your access to that directory is restored. (OX-14832)
You can now use Melody layouts if you previously received a microservice error. (OX-14833)
Saving and publishing a page created from Melody layouts no longer publishes two DirectEdit links.
You can now publish a page created from Melody layouts when the HTTP root in Setup > Sites uses a subdirectory.

Omni CMS Calendar

Administrators can add and delete attributes when lower-level users are restricted in Setup > Sites.
On the public events page while in calendar view, hold the pointer over an event to see its full name.

For minor releases of Personalization, Pathways, Omni CMS Calendar, and Layouts this Support site page, rather than the Omni CMS interface, is the version of record for complete release notes.

Layouts

Administrators and users with access can create reusable page layouts (similar to templates) using a drag and drop interface. When launched, content editors use these layouts to create pages.
- Use prebuilt tiles, frames, and components to get up and running quickly. Then create your own to build any type of page you need.
- Administrators and users with access can control the type of content and type of edits allowed on a page.

Personalization

Purchase this module to present your website visitors with custom content and calls to action based on categories (segments) of their personal characteristics.
- Import data from your existing student information system (SIS) or customer relationship management (CRM) system.
- Use our custom form to collect voluntary information from your website visitors.
- Administrators, ensure your privacy policy notifies your site visitors about new data collection before enabling this module.

Omni CMS Calendar

Search your Omni CMS account for calendar events, using global search.
Use CSS to customize the styles on your public events page.
Add a room number to your location.
See images, status, and more in your RSS feed.
- When you set filters to view calendar events, your RSS feed uses these filters for output.
See canceled and postponed events on your public events page.
Determine whether your public events page defaults to all or featured events, in Calendar > Settings.
Determine whether to show the time zone for your public events.
Click the calendar name to get back to the homepage from anywhere in your public calendar.
Your public calendar is now mobile responsive.
If you added a Google Maps API key to allow maps to be shown on event details pages, your location search will now autocomplete.

Personalization

When you create dynamic content based on a page visited, see the file path to the page.
When you create dynamic content based on geolocation outside a region, see the correct helper text.
To enable Personalization for your sites, select the Personalization checkbox in Super Admin > Sites.

Omni CMS Calendar

See events in the correct date and time based on the calendar time zone.
See events in the correct date and time when filtering by Day or Week.
See the correct menus after changing items in the Filter menu.
You will no longer see a broken image icon when you remove your background image.

Omni CMS Calendar

In Calendar > Embed Code, you can now successfully Copy Snippet when using HTTP.
After switching views on your public events page, see only current and future events.
On your public events page, see the full tag dropdown when using long tags.
When you create a new event and insert an image or media in the event description, you will no longer see its dependency tag.
Deleting a site that has the calendar module enabled now removes the site from the microservice database.

Pathways

You can now set the language for Pathways: Job Market Outlook to match it's containing page.
- We are leveraging Amazon Translate to provide translations. Pathways will translate and display all labels, occupation job titles, descriptions, and program titles in the containing page's locale/language. Choose from the following options:
  - English
  - Canadian French
  - Mexican Spanish
- Content editors can set the language when inserting Pathways on a PCF page or when creating the external embed code.
- When inserting Pathways on a page, you can now use parenthesis and double quotes in the title field. (OX-13501)
You will no longer see Omni CMS internal-use settings in Add-Ons > Pathways > Settings.

Fixes

In the WYSIWYG editor, you can now correctly delete assets separated by line breaks using the backspace key (OX-7297).
In the WYSIWYG editor, you will no longer see an asset preview for an invalid (nested) asset.
See the full, wrapped WYSIWYG toolbar when editing at small screen sizes (OX-13104).
You will no longer see the Edit menu when you submit a page for approval.
When you navigate to an iframe (WYSIWYG editor, sidebars, etc.), dropdown menus outside of the iframe will close correctly.
When you are selecting a date, the date picker will close correctly.
You can, once again, create accessibility exceptions in final and page checks (OX-13417).
In Content > Find and Replace > Scope, you can select the entire site each time you search (OX-7416).
In Content > Find and Replace, easily navigate the File Extensions dropdown.
When creating a component, the advanced settings you select will apply correctly (OX-13118).
When launching a component, you can preview the WYSIWYG editor (OX-13287).
When previewing a component, see the correct checked-in/checked-out actions.
In the activity gadget, see one entry for a scheduled publish action.
In Setup > Gadgets, you will no longer see the list header after you save your edits.
In Setup > Sites > Production Server FTP Settings, you can enter a server name that is 66 (or fewer) characters.
Successfully connect to your production server when using passive FTP (OX-9161).
You will now get a better error message when your site credentials fail.
See long error messages in pop-up notifications more clearly.
See the correct "last published" date when setting stale reminders (OX-8636).
For previously published files that are now in your recycle bin, you will no longer see them on your sitemap.
In Reports > Site Check, you can no longer open multiple dialog boxes.

Navigation Editor

Navigation editor no longer encodes single quotation marks (') in the link's display text.
In the source editor, you will now see HTML syntax by default (OX-12729).
Navigation editor saves correctly on macOS Safari and Firefox.

What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) Editor

Directly edit an include file on a page (OX-12837).
Spellcheck no longer reports possessive words, contractions, and other special characters as misspelled (OX-9689 and OX-9039).
For pages with com.omniupdate.div tags, the WYSIWYG editor now works correctly for a level 7 user (OX-13105).

Validate your pages against the latest standard (Nu HTML Checker) when you run the W3C validator in page and final check.
Create components that have repeating form elements using the new group element.
- Level 10 administrators can now use components instead of table transformations.
In Review > Versions, OU Campus will remove versions of pages, assets, and binary files that are older than 2 years.
- Any publishing action triggers the removal of old versions.
- OU Campus will not remove the original version or the versions that are live on your publish targets.
In Setup > Users, delete a user to remove them from the active users list but keep their username in logs.
- To remove all data associated with a user or to restore a deleted username, contact our help desk.
In the page actions toolbar, see the file path and file icon together with your navigation link back.

Fixes

What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) Editor

See an indication that a toolbar button is active.
In the classic editor (Shift + Click when opening an editable region), you can use the wysiwyg-class attribute.

Forms (Content > Assets)

You can now submit forms containing special characters (HTML entities).
Copy a form asset with its helper text.

Content > Find and Replace

Replacing with a regular expression (regex) no longer replaces with literal text for capture groups.
Component instances will retain character encoding during a replace when a single match is found inside the content of a component.
Find no longer searches the DirectEdit link.
See all buttons when the gadget sidebar is open.

MultiEdit

Users levels 1–4 can now see the MultiEdit button.
Add a MultiEdit region to a page using a label containing spaces.
Define the number of rows in a multi-line text field using the <ouc:multiedit> tag.

Search Filter

See the correct results when using the search filter in the file chooser.
Use keyboard shortcuts in the search filter.
- Paste to the search filter in Content > Snippets.

Create Content

Create new content and the form field prompts now render correctly for checkboxes that have default settings.
Enter an "&" in component form elements.

Reports

See the link to the Broken Pages report in pop-up notifications.
See the file type in the Broken Pages report.
See the tweet URL in custom reports.

Images

You can click Save As when editing an image on the production server.
Upload images that are saved in CMYK color mode using Setup > Image Size Sets.

Setup > Sites

Connect to your production server when using passive FTP.
Delete a hidden directory (dot file) when it is set to display.
For sites that have moved from a self-hosted installation, you can now add templates to template groups.
Site > Clone no longer fails when a filename is too long.

Review > Versions

In Review > Versions, see better alignment for long usernames.
In Review > Versions, compare versions that use <noscript> tags or single "<" characters.

Menus and Navigation

You will no longer see a More Actions menu if no actions are available.
See a More Actions menu when an asset is locked.
While in tablet screen size, see the full More menu in the page actions toolbar.
Navigating back using any method takes you to your most recent folder.

Faster, Cleaner, Better

See better error messages for assets, components, filenames, and root directories.
Your activity gadget loads faster by removing actions older than 90 days.
Drag gadgets to change their location on your dashboard and sidebar.
In final and page check, you will no longer see the W3C validation and accessibility options for a page that publishes as an .inc file.
Copy a folder and the folder link options now default to "Update links to content within the copied folder."
While in preview, administrators can forcibly check in a locked component.

Components

Add multiple instances of the same component to a page and they no longer inherit the content of existing components on the page.

Use Save As on a page with a new or removed component and see the page in File > View Dependents.
While in tablet screen size, see More > Source in the page actions toolbar.
When launching a component, see the correct count of characters as you type a version description.
When creating or editing an instructional text element, see the correct text and more of the element preview without having to scroll.

What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) Editor

Open the WYSIWYG editor even if the page does not contain <!DOCTYPE html>.
You can now copy, cut, and paste tables and table-based snippets.
- Paste a table into a table cell (td) to create a nested table.
Specific styles will no longer impact the buttons, text, or boxes in the WYSIWYG editor.
- Apply your CSS for sizes, colors, fonts, positions, animations, and more without affecting the editor.

Upload Files

Drag a file to Content > Pages and see location guides where you drop it.
You can now upload .pkg as a recognized binary file extension.

Dashboard

In your recently visited section, see the filename instead of title for template (TMPL) and XSL files.
Click Configure Dashboard Gadgets multiple times without opening multiple dialog boxes.

Setup

Sites

When "Binary Management" is selected, you will no longer see Purge Staging Binaries from the More Actions menu for a site.
In Template Location, entering a value in "Remote" and switching to "Local" will no longer validate against the disabled value.
When you export site files, a link to the export (ZIP) file will be available to download for 72 hours.

Users

The "Allow Zip Import" restriction for users levels 6 to 8 will be saved correctly.

Image Size Sets

When editing an image size set, the list and actions will function correctly.

Reports

Site Check

In the Broken Pages report, you can now see a list of link check results from More Actions > Results.

Insights

See the correct number of items per page for SEO, accessibility, spelling, and links reports.

Publish

Failures

When files can't be published, you can now scroll the "Publish Failures" box to see more details.

MultiEdit

Clicking Publish and choosing Save will save your current changes and then open the publish options.

Image Gallery Asset

The image gallery asset no longer compresses images when you upload them.

Page Properties

In Properties > Log, see dropdown menus in front of page content.

Page/Final Check

See styled accessibility check results when you click Open in New Window.

Reminders

When you don't have access to a page, you can set a reminder.

Page Analytics Gadget

If you have a Facebook profile set up, you will now see the More menu and a better aspect ratio.

Improved interface element identification based on Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA) 1.1 standards. Highlights include the following:
- Expansive property labeling.
- Announcements of item behaviors and states.
Use context-specific navigation instead of the breadcrumb navigation bar for improved location accuracy and more window space.
Use context-specific navigation and the page actions toolbar instead of footers on Properties, MultiEdit, Find and Replace, and when creating or editing assets.
Understand required field inputs with context-specific validation and error messages that help you correct the input.

Login

Logging in from your mobile device provides a restructured and accessible “Switch to Mobile” dialog box.
For schools that don’t use a single sign-on service, login and Reset Password are more prominent and accessible on the OU Campus login page.

Dashboard

View My Dashboard to see your recently visited pages, assets, components, and snippets.
Find Configure Dashboard Gadgets grouped with your workflow and inbox buttons.

Gadgets

See gadgets more clearly in the larger, high-contrast sidebar. Highlighting helps you know which gadget you are hovering and clicking on.
Add gadgets to your dashboard quickly from the new grid view.
See recent account actions, like publishes and uploads, organized on a timeline in the Activity Gadget. Click the link to go to a recent file.
See the expandable More Actions menu for each bookmark. You no longer need to hover to find bookmark actions.

Main Menu

Keep control of menus by clicking instead of hovering. Menus no longer disappear when your mouse moves nor open submenus when you click the top menu item.
Find the Setup menu front and center with other similar dropdown menu items.
Easily switch between sites directly from the Main menu rather than a submenu.
Use the Help menu rather than in-context help links to find OU Campus support.

List Views

Clicking to open and close the More Actions menu replaces hovering to find item options.
For lists that display multiple pages of items, you can see the items shown in relation to the total number of items.

Content > Pages

Switch between staging and production servers using a consolidated dropdown instead of tabs.
See unpublished status at a glance, including “Unpublished” for content that has never been published and “Unpublished Changes” for content that has been saved after the most recent publish date.
Open access settings for the current folder directly from the breadcrumb navigation.
Middle-clicking a link no longer returns an error.

Page Actions Toolbar

Page actions toolbar is now full-width with an expandable More Actions menu:
- Find View Published Page, Page Check, and Save Version in the More Actions menu.
- Use the additional Save button to quickly save the page and exit edit mode.
- Maximize the page content on your display with the Toggle Focus Mode button.
- See a clear indication of your current location and links back with the redesigned navigation.

Editing Interfaces

JustEdit, mini-, and classic What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) toolbars updated to TinyMCE 5.
- Classic editor toolbar no longer contains rarely-used buttons, as follows:
  - Revert Content to Last Saved, Cleanup Messy Code, Show/Hide Guidelines/Invisible Elements, CodeProtect, Insert/Edit Form, Delete Form, Insert/Edit Input Element, Insert/Edit Select Element, Insert/Edit Textarea Element.
  - Create forms using the Forms asset rather than the classic editor toolbar.
- Mini-WYSIWYG toolbar is compact with a visible row to find commonly-used buttons. Click the More Actions menu to view additional buttons.
- Insert/Edit Video is now named Insert/Edit Media.
- View a streamlined set of configuration options in the "Advanced" tab of all Insert/Edit boxes and table properties.
- Use the new color picker to create custom colors for fonts and backgrounds.
- Choose from additional special characters and find them using a search.

Pop-up Notifications

Pop-up notifications that confirm your actions in OU Campus are compact and easier to visually scan, with links to additional details.
- Pop-up notifications that acknowledge your actions will automatically close after 8 seconds.
- Pop-up notifications that prompt you to take further action will automatically close after 60 seconds. Click the link to close the notification and open the location where your action is needed.
Hover or focus on a notification to keep it open.
Navigate pop-up notifications with your keyboard or mouse.

Forms (Content > Assets)

Get notified when acting on files in form submissions.
Easily navigate back when viewing form submissions for an asset that is checked out to another user.

Content > Find and Replace

Your list of search results is streamlined; click Expand All Details to view the text containing your results.
Your search results will load faster following a search that returned a large set of results.

Reports

Select your custom report directly from the Reports > Custom Reports dropdown.

Setup

In Setup > Sites, the "Use HTML5 Schema" checkbox is pre-selected when creating a new site, to help your site support the use of current web standards.
In Setup > Facebook, the “OU Social Page” field is removed to prevent unsupported input.

Global Search

Results list displays content types with no results and allows sorting results by file path. Find the Edit Search above the search results.

Files

You can now upload .glb, .gltf, and .imscc as recognized binary file extensions.

Fixes

Inserting images, media, links, and tables using the WYSIWYG editor now keeps the focus on the location of the inserted content.
Insert/Edit Image now accepts all CSS units, not just pixels, for border width and horizontal/vertical space.
Insert/Edit Image no longer adds class="" to img when the class attribute field is not set.
Insert/Edit Media (formerly Insert/Edit Video) no longer removes parameters from the URL of the inserted media.
Remove Link now removes the link when the link contains a span element.
Inserting an anchor no longer adds a space between opening and closing anchor (a) tags.
Click an inserted anchor to edit it when using the WYSIWYG editor in Chrome.
Inserting content in a paragraph no longer adds a non-breaking space.
Drag elements that contain inline styles, including snippets, to an editable region without losing the styling.
Use left and right arrow keys in the WYSIWYG editor to navigate through assets and components that have been inserted on the page.
Spellcheck in the WYSIWYG editor no longer checks inserted asset names.
You can no longer open multiple dialog boxes in the WYSIWYG editor.
Delete table columns and rows when they contain nested tables.
Delete the intended content from table cells (td) within nested tables that have a CSS display property of block.
You can now center table cells (td) in tables that have the margin property set to auto (table style="margin: 0px auto;").
Pasting a span class="" element in an editable region no longer adds an additional span tag.
Non-HTML pages (some .inc and .ssi files) that are opened in the WYSIWYG editor will no longer display an error message when the page contains only the opening html tag.
Pages without a closing body tag will now provide an error message when saved from the WYSIWYG editor.
WYSIWYG editor in Chrome no longer fails to delete the first non-paragraph element when using Select All > Delete.
WYSIWYG editor no longer encodes angle brackets (<>) inside noscript tags as character entities when using the Edge browser.
You can now locate your cursor at the start of the editable region when using the WYSIWYG editor in Firefox.
You can now locate your cursor after dragging a snippet to the editable region in Firefox.
In Firefox, the source editor no longer removes the href attribute from links when you paste non-paragraph text on the line that follows the link.
Copying a toolbar now sends you to the correct URL for the copied toolbar.
Viewing previous versions of assets now shows you the correct version.
See the correct helper text for chooser fields in page parameters and MultiEdit.
Breadcrumb navigation now collapses and expands.
Typing to search and pressing Enter to filter the list of pages by tags no longer triggers advanced search.
Removing a scheduled publish for an asset from the Checked-Out Content report no longer gives you an error message.
Recycled pages no longer appear in the Recent Saves or Recent Publishes reports.
See the correct asset name and type in the Broken Pages report.
You can now sort by status in the Broken Pages report and by type in Setup > Gadgets.
Your browser will no longer stop responding if you enter an invalid name in the Bookmarks Gadget.
Users with two-character usernames can now save components.

Changes/New Features

Snippets can now be used across multiple sites. Existing Snippets are still locked to the site that they were originally created in, but can be updated when editing the Snippet. If multiple sites had Snippets with the same name, then the site's name will be appended to the name of the Snippet once it is updated.
Snippets now have access controls so that Administrators can choose which group of users can use each Snippet.
When creating or editing Snippets, the source code is now directly editable from within the Snippet's settings; separate source code files on the staging server are no longer required. Please note that existing Snippets are migrated into the new system the first time they are used or edited, so it is not recommended to delete the corresponding staging files that stored the Snippet's code until after you have edited or used the Snippet at least once in the new system. OU Campus for Mobile is now available. Mobile users can approve content, read and compose messages, view reports, and level 10 administrators can manage users and groups. When logging into OU Campus from a mobile device, users will be presented with an option to switch to the mobile interface.
The new Tag Management feature allows users to tag any file, asset, or RSS item. Administrators can automatically apply tags to all content within a folder or limit the selection of tags on a per-folder basis. Tags can be managed in the new Setup > Tags view.
The Bookmarks Gadget provides users the ability to bookmark their favorite locations in OU Campus such as pages, assets, reports, and more. Users can also manage and organize bookmarks in folders for easy access.
The Notes Gadget allows users to create public or private notes for any file or asset.
The new Metadata API allows gadget developers to create and store persistent settings or metadata within the OU Campus database. The metadata can be attached to files or pages, directories, users, or sites.
LDP Forms has received several major enhancements, including two new element types (Instructional Text and Date/Time Picker), the ability to set all form input fields to required, helper text for all form input fields, form success redirection to another page, a per-form option for CAPTCHA, and more. Please note that these new features require version 1.2 or later of the server-side module (SSM).
Improved the interface and feedback provided when deleting Form submissions (requires SSM 1.2 or later).

Changes/New Features

The new OU Marketplace™ is your one-stop location for all modules and gadgets available to improve and enhance your OU Campus experience. Users can browse the items available, request new tools, and share these tools with other OU Campus users. OU Marketplace can be found in the main navigation at Add-Ons > Marketplace.
A new site-wide file size upload limit setting is available. When uploading files to OU Campus via File Upload or Zip Import, a size limit can now be enforced for all users. By default, the following limits have been placed:

Text-based files: 250KB
Image files: 1MB
Other binary files: 1000MB

Administrators can adjust the limits, or remove them completely, within Site Settings > Upload Limit. This setting does not affect existing files.
A new footer bar is now fixed at the bottom of most OU Campus views and makes it easier to perform actions without having to scroll to the bottom of the page.
Users can now edit and save images from filechoosers within Page Parameters or TCFs.
Added the ability to copy Web Content, Plain Text, Source Code, and Form Assets. This includes copying to another site within the account.
Quick Search now includes pagination for the search results as well as the ability to edit the search parameters from the results view.
When successfully publishing a single asset, the number of subscribed pages will be included in the notification.
The Zip Import option "Ignore Root Folder" will now hide and disable the root folder in the interface for improved user feedback.

JustEdit™ is a new WYSIWYG editor with true inline editing directly from the page preview. JustEdit can be enabled under Setup > Account.
The YouTube Gadget enables users to access authorized YouTube channels and quickly drag and drop videos into a page. Search and preview uploaded videos, playlists, as well as any video on YouTube.
The Link Check Gadget scans a page for broken links and highlights them on the page for easy visibility. Additional information is also available on the broken link such as the status code, its location, and the current text that contains the broken link.
The Request Help Gadget provides users an easy way to contact a group for additional help at their current location in OU Campus.
The Page Parameters Gadget enables users to quickly adjust and save any page parameter values from the sidebar gadget while previewing the page. Specific page parameters can be hidden from the Gadget by adding the exclude-gadget="yes" attribute to the <parameter> element.
The Workflow Gadget makes it easy to view and take action on any workflow item the user is involved with. Once a workflow item is selected, the user can view all workflow messages exchanged with other users, as well as quickly reply to users involved with the workflow item.
MultiEdit now provides the option to display the date/time option.
All "mailto" links are now filtered out of the results of a Site Check.
When using pagination in OU Campus, the user is now automatically brought back to the top of the list.
Page Parameters text elements now support the rows attribute to define a multi-line text field (e.g., rows="10").

The updated v10 user interface (UI) includes modern styling, streamlined functionality, and super fast access and updates.
All binary files, such as image files, can be uploaded and managed on the staging server offering direct control by the Dependency Manager over binary files in a manner similar to pages.
