Customizing the Login Page

System administrators can change the content of the announcements page that users see when they authenticate on the login screen as well as when they logout.

Customize Login Screen

Creating the HTML Page

A customized announcement on either the login or logout page is created using an HTML page.

  1. Create an HTML page and publish it.
  2. Copy the fully qualified URL; i.e., the full path as shown on the web. For example:

    http://sandbox.gallenauniversity.com/announcements/announcement1.html
  3. The recommended size of the announcement URL window should be no larger than 720x600 for a screen resolution of 1024x768. A larger window will cause scroll bars on screen.

Configuring the Announcement URL Field

Changing the login screen is an account-wide setting and changes made will affect all sites under the account.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Account as shown below.

    setup Tab

    account Tab

  2. Under the Login Page section enter the fully qualified URL in Announcement URL field.

    Account Settings: Login Page Section

  3. Please note is it very important to have the http:// at the beginning.
  4. Click submit. The new login screen will be shown at the login URL.

Configuring the Logout URL

Changing the logout screen is very similar to creating a customized login page.

  1. Create an HTML page as explained in the section Creating the HTML Page.
  2. Navigate to Setup > Account as shown below.

    setup Tab

    account Tab

  3. Under the Login Page section enter the fully qualified URL in Logout URL field.

    Account Settings: Login Page Section

  4. Please note is it very important to have the http:// at the beginning.
  5. Click submit. The new message can be seen upon logging out.
