Icons

Overview

This page provides a list of all the icons in the system, their location and functionality. Note that the configuration options for OU Campus allow for great flexibility in the implementation of a site and the site settings including those for users, access, and content management. For example, in OU Campus v10 images can be managed either on the staging server or on the production server. Depending on this setting and others, the site may be configured to only edit pages, but by default, editing content includes page files as well as images that had previously been considered a binary file type.

Navigation

The Navigation icons can be used to view menus and navigate to specific areas within OU Campus. These icons are located on the global navigation bar. Not all navigation items are available to all user levels. 

Icon Description
Dashboard Icon This icon indicates the Dashboard. Click Dashboard to show the Dashboard area, which provides access to the inbox and workflow messaging, and a view of any Dashboard gadgets that have been configured for the user.In the breadcrumb of the Pages list view, this icon indicates the site root, and can be clicked to navigate to the site root.
Content icon This icon indicates the Content menu. Hover over Content to show the Content menu. Clicking Content shows the Pages list view at the site root. Clicking Content > Pages displays the last browsed-to location in the Pages list view. The items shown on the Content menu depend upon the user level: Pages (All Users), Assets (All Users), Snippets (Level 10) , RSS (Level 10), Find and Replace (Level 10). 
Reports Icon This icon indicates the Reports menu. Hover over Reports to show the Reports menu. The menu items are dependent upon the user level. Most items are available for Level 9 and 10 administrators: Required Actions, Checked Out Content, Pending Approvals, Scheduled Actions, Site Check, Custom Reports, Recent Saves (all levels), and Recent Publishes (all levels).
Add-Ons Icon This icon indicates the Add-Ons menu. Hover over Add-Ons to reveal the menu of links configured by an administrator, as well as the Marketplace.
Marketplace Icon This icon indicates the Marketplace, which is available under the Add-Ons menu. Marketplace is where users and administrators can view all modules and gadgets available for OU Campus customers.
Setup Icon This icon indicates the Setup menu. Hover over Setup to show the Setup menu, which is further delineated into Account Level and Site Level settings. Level 10 administrators have access to the Setup menu.
Help Icon This icon indicates the Help menu. Hover over Help to show the OU Campus related support items: Support, Community, Feedback, and Release Notes. Click the Help icon itself to view the OU Campus Support Site.

Global

These icons will be visible in the OU Campus interface on most, if not all, pages

Icon Description
Directory icon This indicates the File Navigation sidebar. It is available globally, on all main screens, at the top left of the of the screen and shows or hides the view to navigate the directory structure of the site.
Sync Views Icon The Keep Synced icon toggles the functionality for keeping the File Navigation sidebar and the Pages list view on the same page. When enabled, navigating the directory structure is kept in sync in both views.
Breadcrumb Global navigation breadcrumb for the site. This indicates the location within the system and content. Hyperlinks allow users to navigate through the file structure via the breadcrumb.
Sites Icon This is the icon for Sites. If an account has multiple sites, and a user has the proper permissions to access the other sites, this drop-down can be used to change sites within an account.
Filter Box This is the Filter field. Many of the screens that provide a list view can be filtered. Depending upon the screen, the filter is pertinent to a specific column or columns.
Gadgets Icon This is the icon for Gadgets. Clicking on the Gadgets icon to view the Gadgets sidebar. Gadgets can be setup by a Level 10 administrator. Users can choose which gadgets to show or hide on the sidebar, and on the Dashboard.
In-Context Help button This is the icon for In-Context Help, which appears next to many features in the interface, such as in the File Navigation sidebar, Dashboard, and Gadgets sidebar. When clicked, the icon displays a tool tip with a link to the corresponding Support Site page.

Pages List View

The icons at the top of the Pages list view (navigated to by clicking Content or Content > Pages) provide functionality specific to pages and other content available within OU Campus.

Icon Description
Parent Directory/Pages Home This is the Home icon. While inside any of the directories within the file navigation, click Home to view the top level of the site file structure. The icon will be blue if it can be clicked.
New Button This is the New button. Click the New button to create new content. This lists the templates available, such as for a new folder, section, or page.

File Status Icons

These icons are located in the Status column of the Pages list view. These icons indicate whether a page is checked in or out, where content is in workflow, or if there is a scheduled action. For more information about checked out content, refer to the Checked Out Content page.

Icon Description
Checked In Icon An unlit light bulb indicates that content is checked in and can be checked out for editing.
Lightbulb A lit light bulb indicates that content is checked out to the current user (the individual currently logged into, working in, and viewing OU Campus).
Locked Icon A red lock indicates that content is checked out to another user. It is possible to hover over the lock and see to whom content is checked out.
Green Calendar A green calendar indicates that content is checked out to the current user and has been scheduled to publish.
Red Calendar A red calendar indicates that content is checked out to the another user and has been scheduled to publish.
Expired icon The universal no sign, a red circle with a line crossing through it, indicates that content is checked out and is set for a scheduled expiration, which can be a delete, replace, or redirect.
Waiting Approval Icon A blue thumbs up icon indicates that content is awaiting the current user’s approval. The content needs to be approved by the current user to be published, or by members of the Publishers group, if so configured. 
Sent to Approver Icon A blue person indicates that the content has been sent by the current user to another user for approval. The content is in the approval workflow.

File Type Icons

The file type icons are in the column with the Page icon. These icons indicate a generic type of file, such as an image or directory, or a specific file type as identified by extension.  

Icon Description
PCF Icon A blank page with a blue box that reads PCF (publish control file) indicates a .pcf file type; i.e., an editable page.
PCF File Type Icon A blank page with a green box that reads TCF (template control file) indicates a .tcf file, which helps manufacture the .pcf page.
.tmpl, .inc, .zip, .html, etc. File Type Icon A blank page indicates the file type is a .tmpl, .inc, .dtd, .zip, or .html file, among others.
.doc, .docx File Type Icon A page with a W indicates a .doc, .docx, or other Word file type.
.xls, .xlsx File Type Icon A page with an X indicates a .xls or other Excel file type.
PDF File Icon This icon indicates the file is a .pdf.
.inc, .php, .xsl, .html, and .css File Type Icon A blank page with the source symbol indicates the file is an .xsl or .xml file type.
Directory Icon A yellow folder indicates a folder or section, which other files are contained within.
CSS Filetype Icon A blank page with braces indicates a .css, .js, .php, or other script file type.
Media File Icon A play icon indicates a media file, such as an .mp4 or .wav file.
Image File Icon A landscape photo icon indicates the file is an image file, such as a .png or .jpg.

Edit Icons

The Edit icons are found in the Options column on the Edit menu. The Edit menu items are dependent upon content being checked out or checked in and authority level permissions.

Edit Menu in the Pages List View

Icon Description
Edit Options Icon This icon represents the Edit menu for the content. 
Icon for Edit Page This is the icon for Edit Page. Click the Edit Page icon to enter into the Editable Regions view where a user or administrator can access the editable regions, preview, and access the WYSIWYG Editor. If content is not checked out, it can be checked out to access the additional functionality.
Icon for Edit Page Source This icon indicates Edit Source. Click the Edit Source icon to use the Source Editor to edit the full source code of the page. Proper access privileges are required to edit HTML using the Source Editor. The ability to edit using the Source Editor can be restricted for Level 9 administrators.This icon also represents the Parameters available under the Properties in edit/preview mode.
Page Properties Icon This icon indicates Properties. Properties include the page parameters such as page title, meta data, configuration parameters, and also provides access to MultiEdit Content, Access, and Log. Levels 5–10 have the ability to edit the functionality available with Properties for areas to which they have access.
Icon for Page Access Settings The key icon indicates Access Settings for content. Content can be restricted to a certain group for editing, a specific toolbar can be applied, an approver set, and other options. Page access settings can be accessed from the Edit menu or the Properties menu in edit/preview mode.
Icon for Page Reminder The alarm clock icon indicates Reminders. A scheduled reminder or stale reminder can be set on content to help a user keep track of and receive a message about content that is time sensitive or needs to be updated.

Review Icons

The Review icons are found in the Options column on the Review menu. The availability of the Review menu items are dependent upon content being checked out or checked in and authority level permissions. The Review menu items allow a user to preview, compare, view the log, and run page checks on the content before it is published.

Review Menu in the Pages List View

Icon Description
Review Icon This icon represents the Review menu for content.
Preview Icon This is the Preview icon. Preview allows users to see content before it is edited and before it is published. It is possible to preview the content in all published formats, and as it appears in different browsers across platforms.
Page Check Icon This is the Page Check icon. If Page Check is enabled, a user can choose at any time to run scans to check for spelling, link, W3C validation, and accessibility issues. Page Check allows for all checks to be run with a button click, or selectively initiated. If more than one output type has been configured for a page, then the output type can be selected. A custom dictionary based on language can be selected for the spell check.
Save Version Icon This is the Save Version icon. Save Version allows a user to save a version of the page, which may be used to make comparisons for future versions of a page, or to archive a version to which one can revert.
Versions Icon This is the Versions icon. Versions are saved when a page is published, committed with Save Version, and with other actions such as a Find and Replace, and can be used to make comparisons and see the changes that have been made against a prior published or saved version of the page.
Log Icon This is the Log icon. The Log for a page allows an administrator or user to view information about the past saves, publishes, and other actions performed on a page. Log can also be found under the Properties menu.

Publish Icons

The Publish icons are found in the Options column on the Publish menu. The availability of the Publish menu items are dependent upon content being checked out or checked in and authority level permissions. The publish options allow a user to publish content and set certain objectives for the publish target.

Publish Menu in the Pages List View

Icon Description
Publish Icon This is the Publish icon. Click Publish to publish a page or file, and perform or schedule other actions associated with publishing, including options for posting to social media and for sending for approval options.
Schedule Icon This is the Schedule icon. Content can be scheduled for publish and if multi-target publish is enabled, a Publish Target can be chosen. A date and time for a future publish can be set. Notifications can be set to send a user a notice of publish, and social media posts can be scheduled in conjunction with the scheduled publish.
Submit for Approval Icon This is the Submit for Approval icon. This opens the modal by which a user can submit the content to an approver or user for review before publishing.
Expire Icon This is the Expire icon. Content can be scheduled to expire on a specific date and time. Content scheduled to be expired can be deleted, replaced, or redirected.  All levels with publishing rights can use the Expire options.

File Icons

The File icons are found on the File menu in the Options column. File options give a user the ability to modify the file name and location, as well as delete the content.

File Menu in the Pages List View

Icon Description
Rename icon This is the Rename icon. Rename allows the file to be renamed within the directory. User levels 8, 9, and 10 have the ability to rename a file or directory.
Move Icon This is the Move icon. Move allows a file to be moved to a new location within the site. The file navigation is displayed and the appropriate directory or subdirectory can be selected. User Levels 8, 9, and 10 have the ability to move files or a directory.
Copy Icon This is the Copy icon. Copy allows content to be copied into the current or another directory. The file navigation is displayed and the appropriate directory or subdirectory can be selected. User Levels 8, 9, and 10 have the ability to copy files or a directory.
Recycle Icon If a recycle bin is enabled for the site, the icon is labeled Move to Recycle Bin. Recycled pages can be recovered. If a recycle bin is not enabled for the site, this is the Move to Trash icon. This deletes the content and all versions of the content and cannot be recovered. 

Content Menu

The availability of the Content menu items are dependent upon user level. Pages and Assets are visible for all users; user levels 5-10 can view the Recycle Bin; user levels 9 and 10 can view Snippets; and level 10 administrators can view Find and Replace. Icon Description
Pages Icon This is the Pages icon. Click the Pages icon to navigate to the file structure of the site that was last browsed to. Page files and other files can be accessed.
Assets Icon This icon indicates Assets. Click the Assets icon to navigate to the Assets list view, where existing assets can be edited and new assets can be created. 
Snippets Icon This is the Snippets icon. Click the Snippets icon to navigate to the Snippets list view, where existing snippets can be edited and new snippets can be created. Available to Level 9 and Level 10 administrators.
RSS Icon This is the RSS icon. Click the RSS icon to navigate to the RSS screen where new RSS feeds can be configured and RSS groups can be created. Available to Level 9 and Level 10 administrators.
Find and Replace Icon  This is the icon for Find and Replace. Click Find and Replace to navigate to the global Find and Replace feature, which searches the site and includes the ability to use regex. Searched words and phrases can be automatically replaced with a new word or phrase. Available to Level 9 and Level 10 administrators.
Recycle Icon This is the icon for the Recycle Bin. Files that have been sent to the Recycle Bin can be viewed in a list, restored, or permanently deleted, dependent on assigned permissions.

Reports Menu

The Reports menu includes the items as listed in the table. All user levels are able to view the Required Actions, Checked Out Content, Pending Approvals, and Scheduled Actions reports; user levels 5-10 can see Recent Saves and Recent Publishes; level 9 and 10 administrators can also see Site Check and Custom Reports. Full Reports Menu

Icon Description
Required Actions Icon This is the icon for Required Actions, which includes lists of broken pages and out of sync pages. 
Checked Out Content Report icon This is the icon for Checked Out Content, which lists checked out pages, files, and assets, and includes status icons to indicate if a piece of content is scheduled for an action or in the workflow process. 
Pending Approvals Icon  This is the icon for Pending Approvals. Click to view a list of pages that are in the approval workflow. Content can be reassigned to a new approver from this report. 
Scheduled Actions Report Icon This is the icon for Scheduled Actions. Click to view a list of pages that have actions scheduled for them, such as a scheduled publish or scheduled expire. An administrator can change or cancel the task from this report. 
Site Check Report Icon This is the icon for Site Check. Click to access the site-wide report that can be run to check broken links and W3C compliance. 
Custom Reports Icon This is the icon for Custom Reports. Click to access the Custom Reports section that includes a number of reports that can be configured to obtain information about users, directories, pages, dependencies, server, and so on, which can sorted, delimited by date, and exported to CSV. 
Recent Saves Icon This is the icon for Recent Saves. This report is available to all user levels. Click to view the recent saves log and view information about the save, such as date and time of the save and the user who made the change. 
Recent Publishes Report Icon This is the icon for Recent Publishes. This report is available to all user levels. This report shows a list of recent publishes and includes the date and time of publish and who made the publish. 

Setup Menu

The Setup menu is only available to level 10 administrators. Configuration options are broken up between account-level and site-level settings. Templates, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are all site-level settings (i.e., the settings apply to the site the administrator is currently viewing). For more information, visit the Setup page.

Setup Menu

Icon Description
Account Icon This is the icon for Account Settings.
Sites Icon This is the icon for Sites. A list of all sites within the account will be shown. Administrators can configure site settings and access settings for each site, as well as perform other site actions.
Users Icon This icon is for the Users list. Administrators can edit existing users and add new users from this screen.
Groups Icon This is the icon for Groups. Administrators can create new groups and edit existing ones here.
Toolbars Icon The Toolbars screen is where custom toolbars can be created.
Font Size Sets Icon The Font Size Sets screen is where custom font size sets can be created, for use in custom toolbars.
Gadgets Icon The Gadgets screen gives a list for all configured gadgets in the account. Custom gadgets can be added to the account from this screen, and properties for existing gadgets can be edited.
Tags Icon The Tags screen provides a list of tags that have been added to the account. Administrators can remove, disable, merge, and add new tags from this screen.
Custom Dictionary Icon The Custom Dictionary screen contains both the account-wide dictionary and the site dictionary for the site that the administrator is currently viewing.
Google Analytics Icon The Google Analytics screen allows administrators to add Google Analytics accounts into the account for use in the Page Analytics and Site Analytics gadgets.
Templates Icon This is the icon for Templates. Template access settings and template names are configured here. Administrators can also create and edit Template Groups.
Facebook Icon This is the icon for Facebook. Facebook accounts are configured here so Facebook posts can be created when pages are published.
Twitter Icon This is the icon for Twitter. Twitter accounts are configured here so tweets can be sent out when pages are published.
YouTube Icon This is the icon for YouTube. YouTube channels are configured here for use in the YouTube Gadget.

Production Server Icons

Icon Description
View Icon This is the View icon. This is available for files on the production server, and opens the file in a new window to view.
Rename Page icon This is the Rename icon. Rename allows the file to be renamed within the directory on the publish target. Note that if the corresponding staging file is republished, the original name in use on staging continues to be the file name. User levels 8, 9, and 10 have the ability to rename a file or directory.
Move Icon This is the Move icon. Move allows a file to be moved to a new location within the site directory on the publish target. The file navigation is displayed and the appropriate directory or subdirectory can be selected. Note that if the corresponding staging file is republished, the original location in use on staging continues to be the published to location. User Levels 8, 9, and 10 have the ability to move files or a directory.
Delete Icon This is the Delete icon. Files deleted from a publish target are permanently deleted and cannot be restored.
