Schedule Expiration
To schedule a page to be expired, simply click the icon:
Content Expiration allows you to schedule one of three expiration events: Replace your content with different content, Redirect a visitor to different content, or Delete the content entirely. The ability to expire a page is available to all who have the ability to publish it. Contributors can choose to expire content by replacing it with new content or a redirect, and contributors with permission level 8 or higher also have the ability to schedule the file for deletion.
NOTE: Please consider all potential impacts and make all necessary backups before proceeding with expiring a page. Also the Redirect Expiration Option is not available when using .pcf format.
- Replace - Choose this option if you wish to replace your file with the contents of another. Click on the "choose replacement file..." text and select the replacement file from the resulting file chooser.
- Delete - Choose this option if you want your current file to be deleted on both the production and staging servers. This option is only available to contributors with permission levels of 8 and above. Be cautious when using this option. Deleted means deleted permanently and forever.
- Redirect - Choose this option if you wish to redirect all visitors going to your current page to a different page. The "to" field requires a URL, or other valid absolute path. The second field which defaults to "0" specifies the delay interval in seconds before a visitor is redirected to the location specified in the first field. The third and final text area field "Message" is only particularly useful when a delay has been set longer than 0 seconds.
To change the scheduling for any file, go to the Scheduled Actions tab.
