Authority Levels

Users to OmniUpdate are assigned a level to which they are able to edit a web site. There are several different levels based upon what your system administrator believes you are able to do. The different levels are described below.

Reviewer

Reviewers have the ability to view their Inbox/Outbox and to view currently checked out pages so that they (the reviewer) are able to publish files (as long as approver is set to "None")

Contributor

Contributors have the abilities of Reviewers plus the ability to make minor updates to web pages. Contributors make updates in OmniUpdate in a Word type environment. Here they are able to edit text, insert images, create/edit tables and a variety of other actions. Most if not all Contributors, when finished editing a page, will send their edit for approval.

Editor

Editors have the abilities of Contributors plus the ability to make more enhanced updates to the web pages. Some Editors are able to make updates to page properties such as the title or meta tags. They are also able to view recent saves/publishes logs. Most Editors will also send their edit for approval.

Designer

Designers are able to pretty much do everything in the system short of actually administering the system. Their work usually does not require an approver, but again this is determined by the system admin.

Admin

Admins control the OmniUpdate system and its users. It is their responsibility to create users, create groups, determine which level of user needs to send their editing for approval and more.

To determine what functions are available to you in OmniUpdate, view the permission chart.
